Warsaw Calling: Uprising 1944
About
Explore the Warsaw Uprising through personal stories, archival material and previously unseen images, with a complementary display about Polish women connected to northern England.
This exhibition explores the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, when the Polish underground resistance and civilians fought against Nazi occupation for 63 days. Personal stories, archival material and previously unseen images tell the story of the uprising and the people who lived through it. A complementary display by Polonia Northern England shares stories of three women connected to the Polish community in the North of England. The museum’s homepage and exhibition page give the run as 15 September 2026 to 27 February 2027; featured-exhibition teasers show a conflicting reversed date range, so confirm dates with the museum before visiting.
