Clavis Artis - Mark Kanak

An event at Watkins Books presenting Clavis Artis, a mysterious alchemical work, in its first complete English translation.

This presentation at Watkins Books introduces Clavis Artis, one of the most mysterious and visually striking works of the alchemical tradition, long inaccessible to modern readers. The event showcases a new edition containing the first complete English translation and transcript of the rare 1738 Jena edition, accompanied by imagery from the celebrated Trieste manuscript. The volumes explore the work's transmission, symbolism and historical context, and are produced as large-format hardcovers printed in Italy with extensive image restoration. Mark Kanak, named in the event title, is the presenter of this edition.
