About
HHS chair Walter Merricks uses Coolhurst Club records, including minute books from 1895, to describe tennis’s growth among Crouch End young people in the late Victorian and Edwardian period and the clubs’ sporting and social lives before the First World War.
The talk draws on Coolhurst Club minute books from 1895 to explore how club membership shaped sporting and social life, and how local tennis clubs were run. Non-members may attend in person if space permits. Society members can also watch on Zoom using an emailed link.
