GreenMatthews Presents... "Witty Ditties"

GreenMatthews perform a comic-song revue tracing four centuries of witty British music, from Restoration ballads to Sixties satire.

Following their show "A Brief History of Music", the duo GreenMatthews present "Witty Ditties: 400 Years of Comic Song", a fast-moving revue exploring witty wordplay and melodic mirth across four centuries. Chris Green (piano, guitar, accordion) and Sophie Matthews (early woodwinds, flute, saxophone) perform material ranging from bawdy Restoration ballads to Victorian music hall and Sixties satire, featuring songs by Noel Coward, Tom Lehrer, Flanders and Swann and lesser-known songwriters.
