About

A one-day CPD course for veterinary nurses on nursing small animal patients with haematological diseases, including a practical blood smear session.

This one-day course at The College of Animal Welfare's Huntingdon Centre is aimed at veterinary nurses in primary care and referral practice. Delivered by James McMurrough, it covers causes of anaemia, immune-mediated haematological diseases such as IMHA and immune-mediated thrombocytopaenia, transfusion medicine, and assessment of haematological parameters including blood smear evaluation. The session includes practical group learning using blood smears and results from real-world cases to build nursing care plans, with refreshments and a light lunch provided.
