About
A stage adaptation of Stephen King's prison drama The Shawshank Redemption, adapted by Owen O'Neill and Dave Johns, running 28-30 January 2027.
Owen O'Neill and Dave Johns adapt Stephen King's novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption for the stage. Andy Dufresne, jailed for murders he denies, forms an unlikely friendship with prison fixer Red while Warden Stammas exploits his accountancy talents, prompting a quiet, desperate plan. The production explores friendship and hope inside a maximum-security prison, following the 1994 film that was nominated for seven Academy Awards.
