About

Author Mindy Misener joins writer Emily Itami at Libreria Bookshop to discuss her debut novel Good Guys and the myth of the good man.

Mindy Misener discusses her debut novel Good Guys, which follows two estranged sisters after a young soldier from a small Maine town dies in Iraq and disturbing photographs he took during the war emerge, threatening his reputation as a hometown hero. The book examines American patriotism, religious loyalty and the protection afforded to men deemed beyond reproach. Misener will be in conversation with Emily Itami, author of Fault Lines and Kakigori Summer, about the mythology of the good guy and the personal cost of telling the truth. The event takes place from 6.30pm to 8pm.
