Moko Jumbie – Ital Roots Presents: Black History Month Masquerade Special

A family-friendly Black History Month masquerade celebration of reggae, roots, ska and diaspora music with open decks and DJs at a Headingley record shop.

Ital Roots presents Moko Jumbie, a second annual Black History Month masquerade special hosted by DJ Natty Bongo Congo I at the Vinyl Whistle record store in Headingley. The afternoon features open decks slots from 3pm to 6.30pm, followed by DJ sets from 7pm to 11pm with Selector Sounds, spanning reggae, roots, ska, dancehall, calypso, Latin American and African sounds. Guests are invited to dress in carnival-inspired colour, bring a copied photo or token of a loved one for a memorial altar, and families are welcome until 9pm. Funds raised on the night support the Sickle Cell Society.
