For only the second time in five decades, Raby Castle opens during the festive season with interiors decorated by Lady Barnard, showing how the Vane family celebrated Christmas in years gone by. Visitors take a self-led route through eleven ground-floor rooms telling the story of Christmas Day at the castle, from stocking-opening to an elegant evening meal, with volunteers sharing stories in each room. New for 2026, the medieval kitchen and servants' hall reveal how the household staff celebrated 'downstairs', and never-before-seen collection objects are on display alongside a bespoke introductory film. Tickets also include all-day access to the Deer Park and five-acre Walled Gardens.
