Armonico Consort's 25th-anniversary polychoral concert of Venetian School music, including Valls' Missa Scala Aretina, Monteverdi Vespers excerpts and Tallis' Spem in Alium.

Armonico Consort and director Christopher Monks bring their surround-sound polychoral style to Ely Cathedral as part of their 25th anniversary concerts. The programme celebrates Monteverdi, Gabrieli and the Venetian School, featuring Francisco Valls' rarely performed Missa Scala Aretina, excerpts from Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610 and interludes inspired by Hildegard of Bingen. A world premiere by Hollywood composer David Buckley is performed with local schools and guest choirs, before the concert culminates in Tallis' 40-part Spem in Alium, with singers positioned throughout the Cathedral for an immersive sound experience.
