About
A talk at Jesmond Library exploring Stan Laurel's Tyneside childhood, later visits with Oliver Hardy, and his private life.
This Thursday Talk examines Stan Laurel's connection to Tyneside. Although born in Ulverston, Cumbria, Arthur Stanley Jefferson spent his formative years in North Shields, a period he called 'the happiest days of my life' and where he drew inspiration for many of his gags. The talk also covers his later visits to Tyneside with Oliver Hardy, his marriages, his private life and his relationship with fans worldwide. It runs for one hour in the library's Main Room.
