A one-day postgraduate symposium on transatlantic connections in American Studies, with paper panels, a keynote by Professor Mark Ford and a career session at V&A East Storehouse.
The 2026 BAAS Postgraduate Symposium brings together postgraduate researchers in American Studies around the theme of Transatlantic Connections and the 'Special Relationship[s]', exploring ties between the US, the UK and other countries. The day features four paper sessions — Queering Movement(s), Moving Ideas, Moving Bodies and Moving Cultures — plus a keynote address by Professor Mark Ford, a career development session and an introduction to the V&A archives. The symposium is catered, hosted primarily in person at V&A East Storehouse with a digital attendance option, and includes time to explore the storehouse and the David Bowie Centre.
