About

A Durham Energy Institute seminar in which Adam Bell examines how interventions have distorted the GB power market and why reform is pressing.

Adam Bell, partner at Stonehaven and former Head of Energy Strategy at BEIS, delivers a Durham Energy Institute seminar on the history of the GB power market. He examines how the self-dispatch, bilateral contracting model established in the early 2000s has been distorted by interventions since the 2010s, creating market power and operability problems, and considers what reform and the market's future may look like. The session runs one hour, in person, with doors at 12:45 PM.
