Winter Concert – Hensel, Copland & Brahms

Frome Symphony Orchestra performs Fanny Hensel's Overture in C, Copland's Clarinet Concerto with Jasper Yeung, and Brahms's Third Symphony at Holy Trinity Church.

Frome Symphony Orchestra's winter concert pairs a rarely heard overture with a jazz-inflected concerto and a Romantic symphony. The programme opens with Fanny Hensel's Overture in C, followed by Aaron Copland's Clarinet Concerto, written for Benny Goodman and performed by Jasper Yeung. The evening closes with Brahms's Symphony No 3 in F major, whose hushed ending and celebrated third movement are highlights of the work.
