White Wall Cinema: Southland Tales
About
A screening of Richard Kelly's Southland Tales, the Cannes Cut in a 2K restoration, presented by White Wall Cinema.
White Wall Cinema screens Richard Kelly's Southland Tales in its Cannes Cut, from a 2K restoration. The film, Kelly's follow-up to Donnie Darko, is a sprawling Los Angeles near-future dystopian black comedy thriller set in 2008, following action star Boxer Santaros (Dwayne Johnson), adult film star Krysta Now (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and LAPD officer Roland Taverner (Seann William Scott) amid social, economic and environmental crisis. First shown at Cannes in 2006 to a hostile reception, the film was hastily re-edited for release; this screening presents the original cut. Doors open at 6.50pm with the film starting at 7.20pm; the runtime is 160 minutes and the certificate is 15, with under-16s accompanied by an adult.
