Step inside Driver’s Cab from ‘Train of the Future’
About
A free interactive display at Riverside Museum letting visitors sit in a life-size replica cab of the new Nova 2 TransPennine Express train.
Riverside Museum hosts a life-size replica driver's cab of the Nova 2 train built by FirstGroup TransPennine Express, the state-of-the-art electric locomotive introduced on routes between Scotland and Northern England. Originally created to test driver experience, comfort and safety, the cab is now a child-friendly interactive that visitors can climb into and explore. The ground-floor display in the main hall also includes a 360-degree view of the cab, a flythrough of the train's interior, technical information and links to other locomotives in the museum's transport collection.
