Éric Alliez: Michel Foucault, or, What Happened?

Éric Alliez revisits Michel Foucault’s changing accounts of power, political struggle, governmentality and subject formation.

The lecture follows Foucault’s writing on civil war and power through its later critique and shift toward studies of governmentality and subjectivation. It returns to these changing ideas from the standpoint of the present.
