Manchester Collective: Glass Reframed I

Manchester Collective's string quartet joins vocalist-composer Rylan Gleave for a programme pairing Philip Glass quartets with new music for his 90th anniversary.

Marking Philip Glass's 90th birthday, Manchester Collective perform his String Quartet No 1 (Part 2) and String Quartet No 5, tracing his journey from early dissonance to lyrical repetition. The programme also features a world première by Rylan Gleave, who performs his own haunting vocal settings alongside the quartet, plus Edmund Finnis's Devotions (String Quartet No 3). The concert includes an interval and forms part of the Collective's Glass Reframed series.
