Monthly Behind the Scenes Tour of the Royal College of Nursing Head Office
About
A monthly guided behind-the-scenes tour of the Royal College of Nursing's historic 20 Cavendish Square headquarters, ending in the 'The Art of Nursing' exhibition.
The RCN Library and Museum team lead a tour of their 1729 headquarters at 20 Cavendish Square on the first Wednesday of each month. The tour covers the building's history and architecture, its original features including a neoclassical mural-painted staircase, famous residents such as Herbert Henry Asquith, and its conversion into a home for nursing after Lady Cowdray's 1920 purchase. The tour lasts around 40 minutes and finishes in the exhibition 'The Art of Nursing' with time for browsing and questions.
