About

Eric Isaacson presents a slideshow, lecture and film about music scenes that resisted authoritarian control around the world.

A People’s History of Music draws on archival footage, sound and images to survey music scenes in Ethiopia, Germany, North Korea, Cambodia, Brazil, Kenya, the United States and elsewhere. The project was developed by Eric Isaacson, founder of Mississippi Records. This is a mixed lecture and screening format rather than a routine film screening.
