About

Paul le Messurier traces Surrey’s military history from Roman times to the Second World War, from ancient forts and Norman castles to Victorian defences.

This talk uses Paul le Messurier’s book Surrey’s Military Heritage to tour the county’s military past, from Roman times through the Second World War. The Society’s description points to surviving evidence in ancient hilltop forts, Norman castles, Victorian forts and wartime defence lines. The talk runs from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.
