Swing Into Christmas
About
The 30-piece Down for the Count Swing Orchestra combines a big band with strings for a seasonal programme of festive and non-festive classics. Songs include Let It Snow, This Christmas, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year and New York, New York, with arrangements inspired by Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland. These singers are musical influences, rather than billed guests. The Glasshouse performance names Mike Paul-Smith as conductor, with vocalists to be announced; its Sage One seating is fully seated, with ages 7+ recommended and under-14s accompanied by an adult. The Queen’s Hall performance begins at 19:30, with venue doors and bar from 18:30 and box office from 18:00; its timings are approximate and subject to change. St George’s Hall, Liverpool, 14 December 2026: the concert runs 19:30–22:20. The venue bills Mike Paul-Smith as conductor and compère of the 30-piece orchestra, with vocalists and instrumentalists; individual vocalists are not named.
