Monica Hsueh: How to Be a Strong Woman in One Hour
About
Taiwanese-British comedian Monica Hsueh brings her solo show about identity, confidence and inherited expectations to Komedia's studio.
Monica Hsueh performs her hour-long solo comedy show about growing up between Taiwanese and British cultures and the unspoken rules about who she should become. Using storytelling and sharp observation, she examines family, identity, confidence and belonging in what she describes as a self-aware attempt at self-help that isn't self-help. The show follows an extended London run and a UK tour; Hsueh is a BBC New Comedy Awards semi-finalist and British Comedian of the Year finalist. The performance takes place in the Komedia studio with unreserved seating, for ages 16+.
