RADIOPHONICx presents: Beneath The Surface
About
A communal listening session of international radio art on the theme of nature, featuring works by Merzouga and by David de la Haye and Mhairi Hall.
RADIOPHONICx is a communal listening event presenting international radio art to a live audience, with this session themed 'Beneath the surface – sounds of nature'. The programme includes 'Wildly tender is they music' by German sound-art duo Merzouga, a 55-minute work setting Emily Brontë's poems to music with bio-acoustic field recordings, awarded the 2025 Grand Prix Nova in Gold. It is followed by 'Underwater Cairngorms', a 10-minute collaboration between David de la Haye and Mhairi Hall combining underwater loch soundscapes with piano and harmonium. Afterwards there is time to discuss the work with the artists and curator in a relaxed, sofa-filled setting.
