About

The first UK solo exhibition by Congolese-Canadian artist Moridja Kitenge Banza, showing abstract paintings from his Chiromancy series linking cartography and palmistry.

Almas Art Foundation hosts the first UK solo exhibition by Congolese-Canadian artist Moridja Kitenge Banza, featuring unseen works from his Chiromancy series, begun in 2008. The abstract paintings draw parallels between cartography and palmistry, suggesting imagined landscapes, river systems and scarred territories. They reflect on colonialism, the global mining industry and the political and economic forces shaping the Democratic Republic of Congo and Québec. The exhibition runs until 31 October 2026, open 11am–6pm (closed Sundays).
