Paul Lewis: Mozart +
About
Pianist Paul Lewis performs the third of his four concerts exploring Mozart's piano sonatas, alongside works by Mendelssohn and Copland.
Paul Lewis returns to St George's Bristol for the third concert in his four-concert series exploring Mozart's piano sonatas. The programme pairs Mozart's Sonata in D K284 and Sonata in A K331 with Mendelssohn's Variations Serieuse Op 54 and Copland's Piano Variations. Lewis aims to challenge the view that the sonatas are lesser works than Mozart's concertos by juxtaposing them with pieces that show contrasts and connections to his piano writing. The final concert in the series takes place on 1 October 2027, with discounted series tickets available.
