Shapes and Shadows: Donna Webster & Stanley Caldecott-Thornton

A two-artist exhibition pairing Donna Webster's layered mixed-media landscape paintings with Stanley Caldecott-Thornton's landscape photography from Sussex and the Lake District.

Donna Webster shows mixed-media paintings on paper and canvas, built up in acrylic, watercolour, pencil and varnish to explore how places are remembered and felt rather than recorded. Alongside her, photographer and filmmaker Stanley Caldecott-Thornton presents landscape photographs of Sussex and the Lake District, images he frames as memories of places he has returned to or encountered at the right moment. This is the pair's second exhibition together, sharing an interest in atmosphere and the emotional connection between people and places.
