About

A community quilt project made and donated quilts for military veterans; the exhibition traces its growth from a local sewing group to more than 126 donated quilts. (Old Hall)

The Old Hall display celebrates the Quilts for the Longest Day project, which began in a Chapeltown fabric shop and grew into a community effort supporting veterans. The event record marks it as temporary, dates it 21 July–14 November 2026 and lists Tuesday–Sunday viewing, 10:00–16:00. Admission is through House and Gardens general admission; the event page does not give a separate exhibition charge.
