About

A free public lecture by Dr Martin Gaywood on how species reintroductions and conservation translocations are used to protect species and restore ecosystems.

Dr Martin Gaywood, Senior Researcher at UHI Inverness and Species Projects Manager at NatureScot, gives the Linnean Edinburgh Lecture on species reintroductions and conservation translocations. The talk surveys projects in Scotland and overseas, including high-profile mammal and bird reintroductions and lesser-known plant and invertebrate work, and discusses the biological and social issues involved in designing such projects. It runs for two hours at the Anatomy Lecture Theater at the University of Edinburgh Medical School.
