Raby Castle at Christmas

A self-led tour through eleven decorated ground-floor rooms traces Christmas at Raby, with displays from the Vane family’s traditions to the Castle household.

The Christmas tour takes visitors through eleven ground-floor rooms, showing how the Vane family celebrated Christmas and introducing the people who worked in the Castle. Displays include traditional gifts, flowers, Christmas trees, objects from the collections, a festive table setting, the medieval kitchen and servants’ hall. Volunteers share stories in the rooms, and a short introductory film sets the scene. The published run is 14 November 2026–3 January 2027, with timings 11:00–16:00. Tickets include access to the deer park and walled gardens.
