BBC SSO: Beethoven's Symphony No.7

The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under Ilan Volkov performs Takemitsu, Dai Fujikura and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony at the Music Hall.

The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Creative Partner Ilan Volkov, pairs Beethoven's Symphony No.7 in A major with two modern Japanese works: Takemitsu's How slow the wind and Dai Fujikura's Double Concerto for flute, violin and orchestra. Violinist Akiko Suwanai and flautist Adam Walker appear as soloists in the Fujikura concerto, which imagines the soloists as birds. The concert forms part of the BBC SSO 26/27 Season and lasts roughly 70 minutes plus an interval.
