The Rhoda Bulter Award Exhibition

Eleven wall-hangings show contemporary makers’ responses to Shetland dialect poems by Rhoda Bulter.

The 2026 competition asked participants to create a wall-hanging inspired by one of four Rhoda Bulter poems and to write a short statement about their inspiration. Eleven works are on display at Da Neuk. Liam Summers is named as the winner; the exhibition also features work by Yolanda Bruce, Christine Nicolson, Patricia Kavanagh, Heather Wilson, Valerie C. Ward, Maureen Thomason, Ann Marie Anderson, Sarah Kay, Cilla Robertson and Miriam Moar. Shetland ForWirds organises the biennial award.
