Neptune Frost

In a Burundian village transformed by coltan mining and discarded technology, intersex runaway Neptune and miner Matalusa form a connection that may spark a virtual uprising.

This musical science-fiction story unfolds in a mining landscape where a hacker collective resists an authoritarian regime. Neptune and Matalusa’s bond gives rise to a virtual offspring with revolutionary potential, while the soundtrack and shifting analogue-digital imagery connect the characters’ personal story to questions of inequality and technological power.
