Funeral Parade presents "The Long Day Closes"

Funeral Parade presents Terence Davies's tender portrait of a lonely boy finding refuge in cinema, preceded by an introduction from curator Sarah Cleary.

Drawing on Terence Davies's memories of 1950s Liverpool, the film centres on Bud, a boy who finds comfort in cinema as he navigates isolation, family life and his emerging identity. Funeral Parade presents this 1992 British drama with an introduction from curator Sarah Cleary. The film runtime is 85 minutes; the booking page schedules 18:15–20:00 (105 minutes), and that listed interval is retained for the event duration.
