About
Earlier and new works by Glenn Ligon explore how images, text and familiar forms prompt and reinterpret one another.
The exhibition brings together work related to Ligon’s AMERICA neons, Afrocentric colouring-book imagery and redacted text. New template-based pieces and paintings revisit themes of American history, visibility and erasure. Quoted authors and pictured historical figures are not billed live contributors. An opening private view is advertised for Monday12October18:00–20:00; RSVP, price and attendance eligibility are not specified. The exhibition’s normal gallery hours are separate from office hours.
