Hidden Healing – Arches Exhibition
About
An exhibition of Becky Ullah's medicinally inspired botanical paintings exploring the natural origins of modern medicines, at North Herts Museum.
Hidden Healing displays Becky Ullah's collection of medicinally inspired artwork in the museum's Arches display space, upstairs in the Terrace Gallery. Drawing on her 15 years as a clinical doctor, Ullah paints botanical imagery combined with hidden anatomy and microscopic details to reveal the natural origins of modern Western medicines, from chemotherapy drugs found in sea squirts to treatments with centuries-old roots. Born in Hitchin, the artist has previously exhibited with the Royal College of Physicians and the Society of Botanical Artists.
