About

An exhibition of art and archives tracing the Abbey Art Centre, a postwar New Barnet colony and refuge for artists from Britain, Europe and Australia.

Ben Uri brings together paintings, sculpture, prints, puppets, photographs, books and archival material to examine the Abbey Art Centre’s role in postwar British art and migration. The display features work by residents and associates including Alan Davie, Lotte Reiniger, Inge King, Robert Klippel and Ben Enwonwu. It considers cross-cultural exchange at the colony and its links with the Berkeley Galleries. Visit Ben Uri Gallery and Museum on the published Wednesday-to-Friday opening days; admission terms have not been published.
