Benjamin Franklin House, London – A Private Tour
About
A private guided tour of Benjamin Franklin House on Craven Street, exploring its history, architecture and Franklin's years in London.
Sue Stamp Tours hosts a private architectural tour of Benjamin Franklin House, the world's only remaining home of the American Founding Father, who lived there from 1757 to 1775. The tour covers the house's origins as a lodging house, its Georgian panelling and original features, the Hewson anatomy school that operated there in the late 18th century, and the 1998 conservation project that saved the Grade I listed building. The 90-minute winter morning tour also marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, with several artefacts belonging to Franklin on view.
