London Concertante: Moonlight Sonata

London Concertante perform a one-hour piano recital centred on Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, with works by Chopin and Liszt, at Exeter Cathedral.

London Concertante present a one-hour piano programme at Exeter Cathedral built around Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, described as one of the most famous and haunting works in the piano repertoire. The programme traces the sonata from its hushed, hypnotic opening through a lighter middle movement to its turbulent, dramatic finale. The recital also includes selected works by Chopin and Liszt, two composers who expanded the expressive and technical possibilities of the piano in very different ways.
