About
Philosopher Julian Baggini discusses The Book of Coffee, exploring coffee's influence on commerce, culture and the art of living.
Julian Baggini, co-author (with James Hoffmann) of The Book of Coffee, talks about how a chance discovery of Kakuzō Okakura's The Book of Tea in Tokyo led him to explore our relationship with coffee. He considers how the humble bean transformed global commerce, fuelled the European Enlightenment and continues to shape the way we work and socialise. The morning talk takes place in the informal setting of Mercato Italiano, with the ticket price including a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a biscotto.
