Fleet Street
About
A two-hour guided walking tour exploring Fleet Street's printing and publishing history, ghost signs and the Inns of Court, starting at The Blackfriar pub.
Bowl of Chalk leads a two-hour in-person walking tour of Fleet Street, home to London's printing and publishing industry from the 1500s until the newspapers moved east in the 1980s. The route covers ghost signs, stories of those who lived and worked there, Samuel Johnson's connection to the first definitive English dictionary, a historic pub and a beautiful church, and includes a peek inside one of London's ancient legal areas once home to the Templar Knights. Dogs cannot join, as they are not permitted in the Inns of Court.
