The Wall – Helen Thomas
About
A free changing display at WX Wakefield Exchange showcasing paintings and giclée prints of urban wild plants by Wakefield artist Helen Thomas.
The Wall is a rotating display space at WX Wakefield Exchange celebrating creatives from the Wakefield district, and this autumn features painter Helen Thomas. Thomas, who works from a studio at The Art House, Wakefield, paints often-overlooked plants growing in urban spaces, usually in acrylics on paper and board in sizes ranging from postcard to large scale. The display, titled 'George Street to Mulberry Way', includes giclée prints selected from her paintings of wild plants and organisms in Wakefield city centre, plus a print of a Cladonia lichen found at Walton Colliery Nature Park. Prints are available to purchase directly from the artist.
