Khalif Tahir Thompson presents textured, patterned domestic paintings drawing on family photographs, Brooklyn childhood memories and Black American aesthetics.
The gallery’s first solo presentation of Thompson combines oil, acrylic, paper and fabric in portraits that layer personal history with imagination. The exhibition considers humour, vulnerability, ancestry and the passage of time.
