Matyáš Chochola na Frieze Sculpture 2026
About
Czech multimedia artist Matyáš Chochola shows three monumental concrete 3D-printed sculptures at the Frieze Sculpture 2026 outdoor exhibition in Regent's Park.
As part of Frieze Sculpture 2026, curated by Fatoş Üstek and presenting 11 international sculptural projects in Regent's Park, Matyáš Chochola exhibits three monumental works — BRUTALISTA, METEOR and PALCÁT II II — from his 2024 series 'Virtues and Vices of Our Time / 300 Years Later'. The three-to-four-metre sculptures were made using experimental 3D concrete printing and then extensively reworked by hand. The series reimagines Matyáš Bernard Braun's 18th-century baroque allegorical cycle for Kuks, transforming 24 figures into 12 hybrid forms blending antiquity, cubism, brutalism, mythology, science fiction and popular culture.
