About
A prison reformer throws herself into her work after a painful love affair, only to risk scandal by falling for a married judge.
This 1933 drama from director John Cromwell follows idealistic reformer Ann Vickers, played by Irene Dunne, as she rebuilds her life after a heartbreak and devotes herself to improving the prison system. Her resolve is tested when she becomes involved with a controversial married judge, portrayed by Walter Huston, and gossip threatens her reputation. Blending drama with romance, the film also features Conrad Nagel and Edna May Oliver in supporting roles.
