In the Land of Eagles
About
A multi-award-nominated play about a granddaughter journeying to Albania with her terminally ill grandfather as he reveals his past.
In her final year of school, a girl's grandfather receives a devastating diagnosis and asks to go home — not to his semi-detached house, but to Albania. The pair journey into the heart of the country as he reveals the truth about his life before England, and she finds a way to say goodbye to the grandfather she has only just come to know. Inspired by true events, the play explores heritage, borders and making amends for past mistakes. It is recommended for ages 12+ and contains distressing themes, strong language and flashing/strobing light effects.
