The Ever Young Photographer: Photographing Our Community on Film
About
A talk and hands-on film photography workshop exploring photographing Black and African communities, inspired by James Barnor, for Black History Month.
The Afroniche Society hosts an afternoon talk and workshop with guest film photographers Chira Janai, Xanthus and Adé Yusuf (aka Xuest), discussing their work and approaches to documenting community with care. Paul Odulate of C.I.M.E Lab then leads a mini masterclass on film photography, followed by a creative session using disposable cameras and Colorama backdrops. Inspired by James Barnor and this year's Black History Month theme, the session welcomes beginners — no camera or prior experience needed — and centres Black and African creatives while being open to all.
