Music Inspired by Literature

A free orchestral concert featuring music inspired by literature, including extracts from Richard Stoker's opera, song settings, and popular music medleys.

This free orchestral concert features music for orchestra, choir, and band inspired by literature, centered around the opera by Richard Stoker. The program includes song settings of texts by Shakespeare, Emily Brontë, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, alongside medleys of Gershwin tunes and music from Pirates of the Caribbean. University of Surrey academics resurrected Stoker's opera, which explores 18th-century British culture.
