Romeo and Juliet (For Kids)

A fast-paced, family-friendly retelling of Romeo and Juliet set at Verona High, blending Shakespeare's words with modern text, music and dance.

This playful retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, part of the WayWord festival, reimagines the story at Verona High, where the feuding Capulets and Montagues send their children to rival schools and back opposing hockey teams, the Panthers and the Bulldogs. When the losing team gatecrashes the post-match celebrations in disguise, Romeo and Juliet fall in love across the divide. Blending Shakespeare's original language with modern text, popular music and energetic dance, the show runs approximately 50 minutes and is aimed at young audiences.
