Re-discovery: a creative group for those living with young onset dementias and their carers
About
A monthly creative group for people living with young onset dementias and their carers, with artist-led making, exhibition exploration and refreshments.
Re-discovery is a creative community for people living with young onset dementias and their carers, running since Summer 2024 in partnership with Rare Space (Rare Dementia Support). Sessions feature practical making led by artists — past activities include drawing, sculpting, t-shirt making, indigo dyeing, cyanotypes and comic books — alongside exploring themes in current exhibitions. The group offers a relaxed setting for creativity, discussion and connecting with others over tea, coffee and biscuits, with space for 16 participants per session booked by email. Sessions are co-facilitated by artist and Rare Space coordinator Charlie Harrison and Drawing Room librarian Yamuna Ravindran.
